Brian Gjurgevich is a writer, editor, and enthusiast from Portland. His journalism career has seen him chased by bucking broncos, getting up to speed with millionaire auto racers, and for the past four seasons, kicking it with the Portland Timbers as a footy correspondent for the Portland Mercury. He’s written for The Oregonian and Associated Press and has picked up bylines in the San Francisco Chronicle, New Orleans Times-Picayune, Salt Lake Tribune, and many more. When he’s not in the middle of the action, Brian works as a Creative Lead for AHA!, a strategic communications agency in Vancouver, Wash., and is a founder of Intro, a brand marketing agency in Portland.


Kristen James is a publishing and marketing consultant, speaker, and bestselling author of twelve novels, eight novellas and three nonfiction titles including Authorpreneur.  She has edited for Kype Magazine, ghostwritten business books, and helped many businesspeople and authors turn their ideas into book form. www.writerkristenjames.com


Sarah Kelber is a longtime journalist with more than 15 years of storytelling experience, much of it as an editor at The Baltimore Sun. She’s now a Salem-based editor, writer and photographer whose work can be seen at www.sarahkelber.com.


Lori Kimbel lives in the small town of Elgin in northeast Oregon with her husband, Mark and youngest daughter, Hannah. Lori currently owns and publishes Northeast Oregon Business News, which serves Baker, Morrow, Umatilla, Union and Wallowa counties. In addition to her love of writing, Lori is also an artist and enjoys digitally enhancing the many photographs she takes as she travels around the Pacific Northwest.


Gina Rau, Founder and Marketing Strategist at Mighty Big Impact, is passionate about helping organizations connect with their audience in meaningful ways that builds profitable relationships. Identifying the right strategies to reach business objectives has led to success for companies like McDonald’s, JPCenney, Janrain, Opal, Gazelles International, Whole Foods, OpenSesame and more.


Rachael Rees van den Berg is a journalist and communications coordinator. She is a Bend native who spent the past three years as a business reporter at The Bulletin.  When not writing stories, she can be found horsing around at her equine boarding and training facility, Cascade Sport Horses.


J. David Santen Jr. covers stories that emerge from entrepreneurship, the humanities, innovation, literature, natural resources, sustainability, and urban environments. His articles and reviews have appeared in numerous regional publications, including Oregon Humanities magazine, The Oregonian, and the Portland Business Journal. A native of Kentucky, he lives in Portland with his family.


Lee van der Voo is a freelance reporter based in Portland. She was a 2013 Alicia Patterson fellow focused on social and economic inequities in fishing. Her writing about seafood has appeared in The New York Times, Slate, High Country News, and other media.
